Vacancies: four associate global director roles

Could you lead our global activities and engagement?

Recruitment is now open for four clinical leadership roles in our RCP Global team; associate global director for Sub-Saharan Africa, for South Asia, for Asia Pacific and for international medical graduates. For the latter, we are looking for 1-year maternity cover.

RCP fellows are invited to apply to become our next associate global director for Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, Asia Pacific or international medical graduates.

With members in more than 130 countries, examples of our global work include the delivery of membership engagement events, support for local member networks, delivery of conferences, seminars and webinars, clinical and non-clinical training, projects and partnerships aligned to strategic aims such as the East, Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians (ECSACOP) and delivery of the Medical Training Initiative (MTI) scheme.

Associate global directors support the work of the global vice president and wider global team by acting as a representative and conduit for information to and from membership and partners in the region, or the groups of physicians, they represent. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong connection to, and deep understanding of, the region that they wish to represent.

Associate global directors for Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Asia Pacific

RCP fellows with experience of delivering partnership activities internationally are invited to apply to become an associate global director working to help us deliver the objectives set out in the RCP global strategy. The associate global director role is an honorary position with a fixed, 1-year term that can be extended to a maximum 4-year term.

Associate global director for international medical graduates

For this role, we are looking for an RCP fellow based in the United Kingdom who, together with the global vice president and other associate global directors, will help us meet our global strategic objectives for international medical graduates. This specific associate global director role is an honorary position with a fixed, 1-year term.

Guide our activities

Associate global directors guide our activities within specific regions of the world, building links with local physicians and institutions, participating in clinical training projects and acting as RCP representatives. The successful candidates will work closely with the team of international advisers in their respective region, acting as a conduit for information between them and the global vice president and wider global team.

Demonstrate your experience

There are four associate global director roles being advertised representing Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, Asia Pacific and international medical graduates. Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience of developing partnerships and implementing projects in their chosen region or demographic. Supported handovers and induction will be provided for the successful candidates.

The cover letter should clearly set out how you fulfil the requirements of this post, as outlined in the role description which can be downloaded below, and make clear which of the roles you are applying for.

Interviews will take place virtually via Microsoft Teams in the week commencing 8 December 2025.

The successful candidates will take up office upon appointment in January 2026.
