The RCP supports physicians to improve the quality and safety of patient care by turning evidence, standards and professional insight into meaningful change.
Our focus is on improvement that is grounded in real world clinical practice, informed by data, and delivered through established programmes and trusted partnerships. We work with our members and patients to embed learning, reflection and improvement in everyday clinical care, leading to better outcomes for patients.
Together, our improvement programmes support the RCP’s role in strengthening patient safety, improving clinical outcomes and supporting high standards of care across the NHS.
Invited reviews
Invited reviews provide independent, clinician led advice to healthcare organisations, helping them address concerns or develop services early through fair, evidence based review of clinical practice, patient safety, governance and service design.
Invited reviewsAudits
We deliver two national audit programmes commissioned by HQIP on behalf of NHS England and the Welsh government. Our approach emphasises clear reporting, professional learning and practical insight, supporting teams to reflect on performance and strengthen care on the frontline. By supporting shared learning and accountability, the audits contribute to sustained improvement across the NHS.
