Navigating the Portfolio Pathway
The half day 'Navigating the Portfolio Pathway' workshop offers practical advice and guidance for doctors of all specialties who are considering applying specialist registration via the portfolio pathway (previously known as the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) pathway).
By the end of this workshop doctors will be able to:
- explain the portfolio pathway application process
- identify the key principles for presenting the evidence that is needed for the portfolio pathway
- recognise how workplace-based assessments may be used to demonstrate equivalence to IMT and specialty curricula
- set your own personal objectives relating to the portfolio pathway.

- presentation and Q&A session on the application process
This intensive half-day course is aimed primarily at internationally trained doctors who have recently arrived to work in the UK and are applying for specialist registration via the portfolio pathway (previously known as the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) pathway).
The workshop was very informative. It is going to be the first stepping stone for myself in pursuing the portfolio pathway. It has given provision of confidence with embarking on this pathway.
